Dr. Norma Eleane Basurto Acevedo is a graduate of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and has experience in Gastrointestinal Surgery and Surgery for Obesity and Metabolic Diseases, with a specialization in Bariatric Surgery. Her research focuses on the hormonal interactions that occur in patients undergoing surgical procedures to modify hormonal interactions at all levels of the body. These metabolic changes allow for the correction of chronic degenerative diseases such as Diabetes Mellitus, Systemic Arterial Hypertension, Dyslipidemia, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome, and Alterations in the Gynecological Hormonal Profile.
She is an author of numerous scientific articles and book chapters, and has participated in both national and international conferences. She is also a member of the Mexican College of Surgery for Obesity and Metabolic Diseases, the Mexican Association of General Surgery, and the Mexican Association of Endoscopic Surgery, among others.
